Brand new comedy nights at The Electric Arcade!

Updated: Sep 22, 2021

After what seemed like forever in lockdown, this summer was the light at the end of the tunnel for live entertainment. Live comedy, like other in-person performances, was welcomed back in Brighton with open arms. Brighton Fringe Festival, Brighton Comedy Garden, and countless other events flooded our highly hand-sanitized venues, providing a much-needed laugh for seaside residents and tourists alike.

With the sunshine behind us and the clouds rolling in, it’s easy to feel bitter about the prospect of falling temperatures and darker days. Luckily, the coming months are packed full of standout stand-up events and comedy shows that’ll make the Autumn nights a little brighter. Unlike the weather, live comedy is here to stay, and Electric Arcade’s weekly programme of side-splitting shows is certain to keep Brighton nightlife as vibrant as ever.

The Late Show

As the flagship comedy night of the Brighton Fringe, the ever-popular Late Show will be outliving its festival counterpart this year by taking up permanent residence at The Electric Arcade. Funnyman Dave Fensom will continue his role as compere, and with Romesh Ranganathan, Reginald D. Hunter, Zoe Lyons and Laura Lexx making appearances earlier this year, you can be sure that future acts won’t damage The Late Show’s already stellar reputation. Punters can find more super-secret guests and talented new comics every Friday Saturday night at 10:30 PM.

Electric Comedy

Sparks will fly at Brighton’s most electrifying new comedy night, with supercharged line-ups every week. Shock your senses with this buzzing, high-powered, night of laughs.

Is that enough electricity puns? Probably, but Watt were you expecting?

We’ve got all manner of mirth from stand-up to sketch, cabaret to clowning; as we present the best of both local and touring talent - Live at The Electric Arcade. (The jokes will be better than this, I promise). Electric Comedy will be on every Friday and Saturday night at 8:45 PM.

Tired of the Monday blues? Laughable offers a much-needed cure to the worst day of the week*, with fantastic stand-up & working progress performances for just a tenner. Previous guests include Tez Ilyas, Pappy's, Romesh Ranganathan, Joe Wilkinson and James Acaster.

*Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee that Tuesday won’t start feeling like the new worst day of the week. Go on, have a Berocca**, you’ll be fine.

** Other brands are available.

...and much, much more!

While these events will be on every week, The Electric Arcade will be housing its usual mix of one-off music, comedy and film events too. The Brighton Grin Comedy Award will be taking place throughout September and October, with four live nights of talented comics competing for the prize.

We’re always booking top talent for one-off shows and live performances. Sign up for our newsletter here to avoid missing out.
